Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus Dragons Review

I had told you about the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus bringing their "Dragons" show to the Scottrade Center, October 11-14, 2012. Thanks to Feld Entertainment, I was able to attend their opening night show with my husband and 5 year old, who loves Dragons and was amazed by last year's circus.

My family really enjoyed the show. My 5 year old was absolutely mesmerized! The show was non-stop action, at times there were 3 "rings" in action so there was always something to see. The show lasted just over 2 hours with one short intermission, the shorter segment was after the intermission. The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presents Dragons featured the beloved clowns, along with some amazing feats accomplished by those trained in a form of martial arts (can't remember now what they called it--kind of like Kung Fu). The aerialists in their unique bubbles were amazing as were the animals, as were the acrobats.  My child was completely intrigued by all entertainers, but really enjoyed motorcyclists and the animals--elephants, lions, tigers, lots of horsemanship displays and even some dog and cat tricks (glad to see that my animals aren't the only ones who will do tricks for treats/food--very cute).  Of course he loved all the Dragon references (we even broke down and got him a blue dragon to take to show and tell today!   The entire show was definitely high energy and very entertaining.

We arrived early and attended the All Access Pre-show (Free to all ticket holders), and I would highly recommend it. It was pretty cool to see St Louis' own Circus Harmony (from the City Museum) perform as well as get up close to several of the clowns and other performers. They had an area where kids could try on circus performers outfits and we got to see an elephant paint (which they gave away during the show).   They had a Bounce house also that my son loved. (this did cost $5 for unlimited use).  I would definitely recommend getting there early to attend that--it really personalizes the experience. We had a great time!

Tickets are still available for the remaining shows. The show times are:
