Is ALDI Really That Much Cheaper?

You have seen the ads and most likely have heard your friends and family talk about ALDI, but have you taken the time to visit a store and buy your groceries?  If not you are missing out on what could be the easiest and quickest way to save money while still getting the quality and selection you deserve.

Last week I was invited to the ALDI headquarters in Batavia and I went already being a loyal ALDI shopper so I was interested to see just how they are able to offer such low prices especially now a days when it seems like everywhere you go the prices are rising and you find it hard and in many cases a struggle to "keep up".

Over the next few weeks I am going to share a few of the ways ALDI is able to keep their prices so low and even a few recipes that will get you ready for the Holidays.  In the mean time I wanted to let everyone know that for the second year in a row ALDI has been named the nation's low-price leader and to prove it to you I put them to the test today.

So you do not believe me, look at the items I picked up today at my local ALDI vs those at my local market.  I tried to go with items that are a staple in any kid friendly home.

Apple Juice $1.49
Macaroni & Cheese .45
Breakfast Bars $1.69
Peanut Butter $2.29
Fudge Brownies $1.29
Total After Tax $7.28

Now for my local market (which I am electing not to name), where I purchased the National Brands. Expect for the Breakfast bars, which they only had in the store brand

Apple Juice $2.75
Macaroni & Cheese $1.39
Breakfast Bars $2.99
Peanut Butter $3.69
Fudge Brownies $3.29
Total After Tax $14.25

For many of us these are staples in our homes.  When you compare just one shopping trip with five items from ALDI at $7.28 vs my local market at $14.25 that is a savings of 49%.

Can you image the savings over the course of a year, especially with the holidays coming up.

Thank you to ALDI & Weber Shandwick for inviting me to visit, opinions are honest.

Wonderful! It's also amazing how 1, 0.49 box of macaroni and cheese can feed 4 small kids their lunch. My daycare kids request it and my budget doesn't argue! Lol!

You can't beat aldi for the lowest prices on cream cheese, saltines, graham crackers and sweetened condensed milk.

My favorite Aldi deals, coffee, butter, half and half for my coffee, fresh produce of
ALL kinds, fancy cheeses, nuts and dried fruit, tortilla chips! (Ok, even my guilty pleasure, chocolate truffles that they carry for the holidays!)

I love shopping at Aldi but wish there was a store in my town.

The macaroni and cheese at my Aldi was on clearance for .39/box. I really stocked up. Aldi also has terrific produce at amazingly low prices.
