Sing Loud! With Melissa Green Review & Giveaway

Fun, funky and fresh, award-winning children/family musician, Melissa Green releases her 4th studio album with the release of Sing Loud! (Green Circle Music, July 31, 2012), which encourages self-confidence and finding empowerment through gaining knowledge. It features two duets with Brooke Shields as she makes her kids' music debut!

Sing Loud! features 12 tracks the showcase the wide range and depth of Melissa Green's eclectic vocal styles, which pull influences from the likes of Johnny Cash, Indigo Girls, Bob Marley, Eminen, The Dixie Chicks, The Noisettes, The Romantics, Ani DiFranco and Mumford and Sons! 

Here is a brief synopsis of the album, taken from the press release I received:

Sing Loud! conveys the message, "Stand tall, be proud, have fun, and get up and dance!" Songs run the gamut from invigorating kid anthems like "Heyo," "Sing Loud!" and "Get Up" (which features a chorus from Eminem's "Lose Yourself") and rockabilly tracks like "Aboard That Train" to a cover of the Go-Go's poppy "We Go the Beat" featuring guest artist Brooke Shields. The album leads off with "Baby, I love You," a rocking declaration of love. Kids will get a kick out of the Melissa Green/ Brooke Shields "musical bike ride" duet, "4 Nickels and a Dime."  Other highlights include the energetic "The Playdate," the best-friends-forever song, "Two Birds," the sweetly supportive "My Love," a hauntingly expressive lullaby "Will I Dream in Colors?" and even a cover of the '70s classic "Free to Be...You and Me."

I have been listen to Sing Loud! with my 5 year old in the car and had taken it out to write this review, I unfortunately didn't get it back to the car before our next drive and let's just say he was NOT happy that he couldn't listen to HIS music (and that is the highest review in my book!)! I really like it too, which, as any parent knows, is a huge blessing! I love that she pulled in a few songs from my childhood--which is fun and a great bonding experience.  I really found Sing Loud! to be ageless--something you can really listen to with your children and you will find yourselves all singing along to and still singing after the music is off!
