Elefun Snackin' Safari Game Review & Giveaway

My family enjoys playing games together and are always looking for new and fun games.  I was recently introduced to a new game from Hasbro called Elefun Snackin' Safari.

This game is not your typical board game, it requires the players to be on their feet and moving around which as I found with my daughter, definitely held her interest. If the players really get into the game as my husband and daughter did, you will see that they may even run around from card to card trying to pick them up. It is designed for ages 3 and up and for 1 or 2 players.

Here is the description from Hasbro:

It’s a bouncin’, snackin’ barrel of fun with the Snackin' Safari game. Grab your elephant with his attached springy truck and go to home base, then start bouncing your elephant’s trunk on the snack cards to pick up a tasty snack. Once it’s caught, run back to home base and drop it off, then get back to the snackin’ as quick as you can. Make a pile of snacks, and if your pile is the biggest at the end, you win.  

As you can see from the picture above the players hold the handles on the elephant heads and push the plastic spring down to the ground to pick up the cards using the small suction cup on the end of the elephant's trunk.  This game is definitely good for hand/eye coordination.  It takes a little practice to get the suction cup to grab onto the cards and it can sometimes take several attempts, but it can be done.  I found wetting the suction cup slightly helped a little. 

There are 3 different games that can be played:
-Find the Golden Tutti Fruitti card to win
-Collect matching colors
-Get the most pairs of matching snacks

This is a game that a 3-year old could definitely play and enjoy.  Even big kids like my husband had a good time playing it. The list price of this game is $19.99 but I found it on Amazon for $18.39.  It is expected to be available at mass merchandise retailers nationwide this fall.
