Ben Taylor's Listening Review & Giveaway

Music runs through the veins of singer-songwriter, Ben Taylor, son of James Taylor and Carly Simon. Four years in the making, his latest album, Listening (Sun Pedal Recordings/ILG, Aug. 14, 2012), gives a peak at his life over those 4 years and show case his musical versatility--showcasing influences from folk, pop, soul, urban, reggae and country/western style music.

I real enjoyed listening to Ben Taylor's Listening album. I found his voice sort of calming, honest, and smooth. The music and rhythms complimented his voice and the lyrics perfectly.  I felt that the album showcased, Ben as an individual, yet pulled from musical legacy--which I found refreshing--he didn't try to be his parents, yet didn't try to be completely opposite (which never seems to work out very well). Fans of his parent music (like I am) will definitely hear their influence in his music, yet he takes it beyond them to make it his own.
