Nielsen Massey Vanillas Review & Giveaway

Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Inc has been producing producing premium vanilla products for over 100 years now and has earned positive reputation as the producer of fine vanillas worldwide. All Nielsen-Massey products are Allergen-Free and certified Kosher and Gluten-Free.

The line of Nielsen-Massey’s Pure Vanilla products include: Vanilla Beans and Extracts from Madagascar, Tahiti and Mexico; sugar and alcohol-free Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder; Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste; Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar and Certified Organic Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract and Beans.
Nielsen-Massey Vanillas recently introduced a line of Pure Flavors: Pure Chocolate Extract, Pure Almond Extract, Pure Orange Extract, Pure Lemon Extract, Pure Coffee Extract, Pure Peppermint Extract, Orange Blossom Water and Rose Water.

I have used the Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder and Pure Vanilla Extract, which are super flavorful and so versatile, and I love both! I recently got try out their Pure Coffee Extract, which is an awesome addition to many items to really kick up the flavor, a favorite in our household is to add to to chocolate beverages to give it a mocha taste. Here is the description of the Pure Coffee Extract taken from their website:

The rich, freshly brewed flavor of our Pure Coffee Extract is achieved through our careful distillation of premium coffee beans. The full-bodied flavor enhances frozen desserts, baked goods and cocoa as well as savory dishes, like soups, gravies, tomato sauces and salsas. Plus, this concentrated extract is easy to keep on hand, unlike ground coffee or beans, which rapidly lose their flavor.
1 tsp. Coffee Extract = 1 tsp. Dry Espresso Powder
1 tsp. Coffee Extract + ¼ cup Water = ¼ cup Brewed Coffee

I have only started playing with the Nielsen Massey Pure Coffee Extract, but I am really amazed at how much it adds to a recipe. I can't wait to see what else I can discover with it.

Nielsen-Massey has given me a recipe that takes their Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract and their Pure Coffee Extract outside the kitchen (well sort of) to the grill! I haven't had a chance to try it, but it sounds delicious and I can't wait to give it a try (plus it inspires me to discover more ways to use their vanilla and coffee extracts)! Here is that recipe:

Kona Rubbed Strip Loin
8, 6 oz New York strip steaks

Marinade
1 qt. Kona coffee, brewed extra strong and chilled
1/4 cup Kona coffee grounds
1/2 cup chipotle peppers
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1/8 cup Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey Pure Coffee Extract
6 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
3 shallots, peeled and chopped
4 sprigs of thyme, chopped
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 bunch scallions
1 cup salad oil

Combine all of the solid ingredients in a food processor and blend. Slowly add the coffee and salad oil and blend until all of the ingredients are combined. Cover the steaks in the marinade and cover with plastic wrap so the marinade covers the entire surface area of the meat. Marinate for at least 4 hours. After marinating, remove and dry off the steaks. Season with salt and pepper, and grill to your desired temperature.

Would you like to win  a 2 oz. Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract and a 2 oz. Pure Coffee Extract?
