Coppertone Review & Giveaway

Summer is here and no matter where you live you know that it is a hot one.  This leaves your skin even more exposed to the sun and it harmful rays than you may even realize.  So you must take the time to not only protect yourself but also your kids.

Coppertone has many sunscreens in their lineup, but these three should cover all your needs:
  • For active adults, Coppertone Sport Pro Series 50+ sunscreens stay on strong and move with the skin in hot and humid weather as well as during intense exercise.
  • For active kids, Coppertone Wet ‘n Clear Kids SPF 45+ simplifies reapplication. There’s no need to towel them off before reapplying and it sprays on clear.
  •   For the little ones, Coppertone Water Babies Pure & Simple Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 is a hypoallergenic, oil and fragrance free lotion made specifically for babies’ delicate skin.
Personally, I am very pale and rather than tanning I burn.  I also worry about the long term affects of the sun that I tend to overdo the sunscreen, but I am glad I do since it has been years since I have even had a tan.  I worry even more about my 4 year old daughter, who is not old enough to know on her own if they sun is starting to burn her.  Thankfully we both have been using the Coppertone products listed above and while it is July, I am proud to say we are probably the palest family in town.

UVA rays penetrate more deeply into the skin and can contribute to premature skin aging and skin cancer. We encounter UVA rays no matter what the season or time of day.

Take the time to educate your family on the importance of sun protection. Because significant sun damage occurs before people reach age 18, sun safety habits should start at an early age. I make sunscreen application part of my family’s morning routine before running out the door for errands or outdoor activities. If children resist putting on sunscreen, find ways to make the process more fun such as a “sunscreen challenge” or rewards for remembering to reapply.
