Gigi Hill was created by 2 moms who began chatting about trying to find the perfect bag while they were at the soccer fields. After much research and inspiration, Gabrielle DeSantis-Cummings and Monica Hillman created Gigi Hill, which prides themselves in offering high-quality, stylish, modern and chic, yet classically feminine and, of course, functional bags that are necessary for today's fast-pace!
I was given one of the Gigi Hill bags for this review. The one I received (and let me say, there are a lot to choose from, so I am glad I didn't have to choose which one to get first) was The Gigi Hill Collection--Mae bag. I don't think I have ever found another handbag quite like this one and I think it is great! The Mae bag is a mini cross-body hipster that can also be used as a clutch or a wristlet wallet. It comes with both the adjustable 22"-25" adjustable strap and the wristlet strap, both are detachable--so you choose which works best for you!
The Mae bag has a unique fold-over design. It has 2 main zippered pockets--one on the front and one in the middle. It also has a few credit card pockets within the middle pocket. A small mirror is also attached in the middle. There are magnetic snaps that hold the two sides together when folded over, which I really like--I think it keeps it looking classic.
The outside of Mae bag is in the Luxe design which is a laminate material--that looks really great and is easy to clean, when 5 year old stick fingers grab it or spill something on it, there are several other patterns and material choices to choose from including cotton canvas, coated nylon, microsuede and faux leather. They have paid attention to details with the small, tasteful, heart-shaped zipper pulls and the emblem.
I love the Mae bag, it has become my everyday bag. It is perfect sized to hold all my essentials--in one pocket I currently have my calendar, a package of wet wipes, a pen and my cellphone, in the middle pocket I have my drivers license, money, store cards, coupons and a couple of receipts and I have room to add more if needed like my lip balm (which is normally in there). First, a wallet that holds my calendar well hasn't been easy to find, especially not with everything else I have in here--so I am sold right there. I love that it has strap options, depending on my current needs. Yet it is small enough to throw into a larger handbag for when I need more "mom" stuff!
I do think the Mae style has a great look that transitions well from anytime casual to a night out classic and elegant and if the other Gigi Hill bags are constructed as well as this one is, I am impressed. Gigi Hill is a direct sales company, which can provide you with an opportunity to earn income as a "stylist" or earn free or discounted product by hosting a party, plus you can order independently through their website.
