One of my all time favorite Kindie musical groups, Recess Monkey is releasing their 8th studio album, In Tents (Monkey Mama, June 19, 2012 (distributed by Burnside Distribution Corporation)), featuring big top (and kid) inspired tunes perfect for kids ages 3-8 and their families. These three elementary teachers know all about childhood dreams, fantasy and adventures and portray it through their music--experiencing a circus is the theme for the In Tents album.
The Recess Monkey's Drew, Daron and Jack are joined by Dean Jones, from the family-friendly band Dog on Fleas, bring with him some amazing keyboard rhythms, trombone slides and high spirit singing (he also served as the albums producer). Other guest artists include: Lunch Money, Sugar Free Allstars, and The Pop Ups. In Tents brings kids (of all ages) fun, hip, clever and humorous music with sound and lyrics that take the listener on a listening adventure through some of the sights, tastes and sounds of the circus in the 15 songs on the album. The songs include:
1. In Tents
2. Popcorn
3. Sit and Spin
4. Human Cannonball
5. Odditorium
6. Bouncy House
7. Carousel
8. Twins
9. I Could See (Magically)
10. House of Cards
11. Edwina Mae
12. The Dancing Bear
13. Lemonade
14. Crystal Ball
15. Show on the Road
We love Recess Monkey in this house! They just know how to reach kids without boring or annoying the adults. In Tents, definitely did not disappoint! We love it! We haven't quite narrowed down our favorite yet, they are all lots of fun and the music fits what the lyric is describing perfectly! My 5 year old also loves looking through the book part of the album, with the unique and intriguing full color pictures!
