IBNIA was born out of desire, a desire to find a backpack made specifically to fit the needs of women. Their line has expanded to several styles and crossed continents (concept design began in the Netherlands, produced in Korea, pictures taken in Japan). They continue to flourish under the motto "If there is no such thing, let's make it ourselves."
I have been testing out the Joyheel Bag and I love it! The concept for the Joyheel Bag came from the frequent need of women to require more than one pair of shoes throughout the day and frequently didn't have time to go home to change them, for example, if you walk to work, you might wear a more comfortable shoe, but once you get to the office you need to step up your game and thus switch into heels or you wear flats throughout the day at the office but want to dress it up a little for a evening out with some heels. Problem was, how do you carry your extra pair of shoes and everything else you need for your day in the office? Laptop & paperwork in the computer bag--shoes in a grocery bag so they don't ruin your presentation, not always the image you want to portray. The Joyheel Bag solves that dilemma!
The Joyheel Bag is a new type of backpack unlike any other! It is a backpack with a separate (and removable (usable as a separate bag when needed)) storage compartment on its upper part designed perfectly for carrying your extra pair of shoes--heels, flats, exercise, or however you might choose to utilize the space. The main backpack area has space for a notebook and other documentation and an inner pocket to help keep things from shifting. It's streamlined shape is feminine flattering, The external side pockets (non-zip) is a great place for a cellphone or other items that you might need quicker access to. The specially designed straps enhance comfort even when you need to carry the Joyheel Bag for an extended period of time. The entire bag is well constructed and "insulated" so you don't need to worry about a stiletto poking through the bag! Plus, the Joyheel Bag is currently only available in bright red!
I love the Joyheel Bag! I recently used it on a trip I took. It kept my laptop and all the paperwork that I wanted with me, intact. It was comfortable to carry and since on this trip I didn't need a second pair of shoes, I used the upper compartment to hold my chargers, camera, computer mouse and the like and it worked perfectly--granted it will still most often be used for shoes, it is wonderful when things can function so easily in multiple manners like this does. The upper compartment zips on and off easily. I like that is has an additional "snap" to help hold it in place while moving, yet you still have access to the lower compartment without removing it completely. It didn't make the backpack feel top heavy or unstable at all. I liked that it also had the hand strap for easy re-positioning within a room. Even my husband commented on how well it held everything we needed, I totally agree! I like that it really does have a feminine feel to it, even with it being built quite sturdy!
I took a peek at the other bags IBNIA has created on their website and I must say I am impressed with the entire line, even if it is only just from pictures on the other styles. If you are looking for a great backpack or messenger type bag with the functionality and style (feminine, yet classic) that a woman desires--check out what IBNIA has to offer. I honestly am thrilled with my Joyheel Bag, I have found it to be super functional, comfortable and I like how it looks!
