On June 5th two of my favorite television shows most recent seasons are being released on DVD.
The first DVD set is White Collar, Season 3. If you have not been following show on USA Network you are really missing a fun, interesting and fast paced show. The show centers around a slick and charming con man and his partner, an FBI agent. Together they solve some elaborate crimes all while figuring out how a career criminal and law enforcement agent can get along. In addition to every single episode, this DVD set also includes bonus footage, deleted scenes, a gag reel and commentary.
Even though I had watched all of the episodes already, it was fun to watch them again. I really enjoyed some of the never before scene bonus footage and the commentary of the season finale episode, "Judgement Day" was very interesting.
The second DVD set coming out on June 5th is Burn Notice, Season 5. I have been watching this show since the very beginning and it has been a roller coaster ride following burned CIA agent Michael Westin and his seemingly never ending quest to find the people responsible for getting him kicked out of the CIA as well as helping others who need his expertise in writing a wrong. This season brings some major developments in the story that I do not want to give away, but they are big. The season ended with a big surprise and I can not wait until the new season begins to see what happens next.
In addition to all of the episodes from season 6, the DVD set includes an extended episode, deleted scenes, a gag reel and a feature on the villains. It was fun to get to watch these episodes again, especially without commercials. As I said earlier, with all of the action going on in each episode and the every developing story of Michael Westin coming back from being burned, the shows really hold your interest.
Both of these sets would make a great Father's Day gift. Right now you can pre-order White Collar Season 3 on Amazon for $29.96 + Free Shipping. The list price is $49.98. Burn Notice Season 5 is available for pre-order for $25.99 + Free Shipping.
