Family games help build bonds and life lessons, but there really isn't any games for you to play with your toddlers, well until now. ThinkFun, Inc, a leading developer of  addictively fun games that sharpens the mind, has created the first ever game designed for parents to play with children as young as 18 months, called Roll & Play.
The ThinkFun Roll & Play is designed to provide your toddler a loving and joyful first game experience that will build confidence, encourage creativity and promote gross motor development and active play in children ages 18 months to 3 years with their parents/grandparents/caregivers.  Its simple design allows for easy play and  uses developmentally appropriate activities that teach children about colors, counting, emotions, body parts, animal sounds and actions.

To play ThinkFun Roll & Play they simply roll the large plush cube--each side has a different bright color with corresponds to the 6 color-coded card categories (48 cards total)--then match the color on the cube with a matching card and act out the activity described on the card, for example Play Pat-a-Cake (action), Bark like a dog (animal sound), Count 5 fingers (counting), Find Something Red (color), Make a sad face (emotion), Rub your belly (body parts).  You can watch this video on "how to play Roll & Play" to help get a better sense of how it works.

ThinkFun Roll & Play helps teach children how to play games, taking turns and following rules and instructions. I like that there is no competition involved, I prefer that at that age. It helps develops a positive self esteem and provides plenty of opportunities to give your child praise and encouragement. Plus the game can be easily adjusted to fit an individual child's abilities! I love that the card store right in a pocket on the cube and there are no small parts to worry about losing or that could be choking hazards to our little ones. I think ThinkFun did a great job with designing a "family game" for toddlers, I love all the positive benefits that you can your child can get from playing this game and I think it would be a great gift for children in your life who fit that 18 month-3 year age group, even my preschooler had fun acting out the different cards!

Thank you to Shea for my sample used in this review, opinions are honest.  Review by Michelle.
