Mother's Love Review & Giveaway

Maternal instincts are shared by humans and members of the animal kingdom alike. Protective and loving instincts are just a fact of life for mothers.  The National Geographic Society's book Mother's Love: Inspiring True Stories from the Animal Kingdom (2012) by Melina Gerosa Bellows, forward by Kate Hudson, celebrates these instincts and the unconditional love a mother has for her child.
Here is the synopsis of Mother's Love: Inspiring True Stories from the Animal Kingdom from the back cover of the book:

Fearless, compassionate, all-encompassing mother love is wondrous to behold...even in unexpected places. Mother's Love celebrates mothers of all species, from the German shepherd who adopted an orphan baby deer, to the mother grizzly who fiercely drove off a much larger bear threatening her cubs, to the gravely injured cat who braved five trips into a burning building to save her kittens. For anyone who has been loved by a mother, loves a mother, or loves a child as only a mother can, this book will touch your heart.

Sales of Mother's Love go to support the mission of the National Geographic Society and all the good they do educate us and protect the animals around the world.

Mother's Love is absolutely adorable, with its compact size 7"x7" size and full color photographs, sweet stories, sentimental quotes and even tidbits of fun facts about mothering in the Animal Kingdom. This hardcover book is great for sharing with a child or giving as a sentimental gift to a mom on Mother's Day!

Would you like to win a copy of Mother's Love?

Giveaway ends at 8pm, on Sunday, May 20th.

My sister has doves that return to her patio cover each year to nest. Already this year they are on their third set of babies. Mom and dad are very attentive to the babies. It's very sweet.

I don't have a story really but I would say that hamster mommies need to be distant from her children when they are first born or else the mommy will love the baby so much so as to... yeah. I'll stop there.

Christina - xristya@rock.com - My father would feed a couple of wild Canadian geese that came to his man-made lake in Kettle Moraine every year (they would fly away from everyone else). One year he let me feed them too, and the little brown goslings walked up on my rubber boots, clamoring for food!

Before our neighbors moved in with two barking boxers, we had a doe that would deposit her baby in our rose garden for the day to stay safe while she went out foraging.
