French's Mustard Tips & Idea....Review & Giveaway

I love mustard for the taste and the fact that it adds tons of flavor without adding a bunch of calories. I find that I am particular about my mustard--I like certain varieties of mustard on specific foods, for instance, I still prefer the classic yellow on my hot dogs, spicy brown on certain sandwiches, Dijon in many of my recipes, honey mustard as a dip for chicken nuggets and so on. French's has my go-to mustard for years. I know I can always trust that I am going to get the delicious taste I am looking for!

French's Mustard has been America's Favorite mustard brand for over 100 years and they have recently added a couple new additions to their delicious line. These new additions are:

*French's Dijon Mustard with Chardonnay Wine

*Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

These new additions join the French's Mustard family which includes: Classic Yellow, Spicy Brown, Honey Dijon, Honey, and Horseradish.

French's Dijon Mustard with Chardonnay Wine is made with real chardonnay wine, which gives it a deliciously balanced yet complex flavor that adds the perfect touch to recipes like potato salads & potato salads, as well as as a condiment on sandwiches. I love it on my Turkey and Swiss wrap!

 

 

French's Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce is sweet and creamy, perfect as a condiment and as a dipping sauce. My 5 year old and I love it for dipping our chicken nuggets and soft pretzels in! It would also be great for veggies, french fries and other dip-ables. I think it would be great on sandwiches, as an alternative as to mayonnaise.  It is definitely bound to be a kid favorite. 

The French's website has some great recipes using these delicious new mustard varieties and other French's products, plus here are a few additional recipes that use the new French's Dijon Mustard with Chardonnay Wine!

CHICKEN WITH CREAMY DIJON HERB SAUCE

 

Prep Time:  5 mins

Cook Time:  20 mins

 

1/2 cup  chicken broth

6 tbsp.  FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard 

1/3 cup  cream cheese spread, softened

1 tbsp.  minced herbs (parsley, basil or chives)

1 tbsp. oil

4  (6 oz.)  boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 tsp.  minced garlic

1.  MIX broth, mustard, cream cheese and herbs until well blended; set aside.

2.  COOK chicken in hot oil in nonstick skillet until browned on both sides, about 15 min.

3.  STIR in mustard sauce and garlic. Simmer over medium heat 3 to 5 min. until sauce thickens slightly and flavors are blended.

Makes  4 servings 

Tip: Substitute 2 tbsp. prepared pesto sauce for the herbs.

 

SALMON WITH DIJON SAUCE

 

Prep Time:  5 mins

Cook Time:  15 mins

 

4  (6 oz.) salmon fillets

Salt and pepper to taste

1/3  cup  FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard

3  tbsp.  olive oil

3  tbsp.  lemon juice

1 tsp. minced garlic

1. SEASON salmon with salt and pepper. Place into greased baking dish, skin side down.

2.  MIX remaining ingredients. Reserve 1/3 cup sauce. Spread remaining sauce over salmon pieces.

3.  BAKE salmon at 400°F for 10 to 15 min. until salmon is cooked through. Serve with the reserved mustard sauce.

Makes  4 servings 

 

HAM & CHEESE PANINIS

 

Prep Time: 10 mins

Cook Time: 5 mins

 

8  tbsp.  FRENCH'S® Dijon Mustard

8  large slices  Italian bread, cut 1/2-inch thick

8  oz.  thinly sliced deli ham

8  oz.  sliced Swiss or Fontina cheese

1  tomato, thinly sliced

2 to 4  tbsp.  butter

1.  SPREAD 1 tbsp. mustard on each slice of bread.

2.  ARRANGE ham, cheese and tomato on 4 slices bread, dividing evenly. Cover each with second slice of bread, mustard side down.

3.  MELT butter in large nonstick skillet. Cook sandwiches until golden brown and cheese melts, turning once. Cut in half to serve.

Makes 4 servings 

Tip: Sandwiches may be prepared in panini or sandwich grill.
