For us, Scholastic is the brand we trust and turn to when choosing high quality and educational materials for our child, particularly when it comes to books and reading. I love that they encourage a child's love of learning and promote literacy. Their #1 award-winning children's DVD series, Scholastic Storybook Treasures: Read-Along DVDs has become one of our favorite DVD series.

The Scholastic Storybook Treasures: Read-Along DVD: The Valentine's Collection...Featuring One Zillion Valentines brings us 5 award-winning stories about friendship that is perfect for Valentine's Day. Here is the synopsis from the back of the DVD case:

You can collect the entire library of Scholastic Storybook Treasures and read along on screen with your favorite classic children’s stories, brought vividly to life on DVD.
*ONE ZILLION VALENTINES (Written and illustrated by Frank Modell) Two enterprising friends, Milton and Marvin, prove that valentines are for everyone.
*A LETTER TO AMY (Written and illustrated by Ezra Jack Keats) The wind spoils Peter’s attempt to mail a special invitation to his special friend Amy.
*GOGGLES! (Written and illustrated by Ezra Jack Keats, narrated by Geoffrey Holder) Peter and his friend Archie call upon faithful dog Willie to outsmart a gang of tough bullies who want Peter’s goggles.
*WILFRID GORDON McDONALD PARTRIDGE (By Mem Fox, illustrated by Julie Vivas, narrated by Mem Fox) In this gentle, moving story about caring and sharing, a small boy helps a friend remember her past by sharing his own special items.
*WILL I HAVE A FRIEND (Written by Miriam Cohen, illustrated by Lillian Hoban, narrated by David de Vries) On the first day of school Jim worries that he won’t make any friends. Will he meet anyone who feels the same way?

The stories on The Valentine's Collection...Featuring One Zillion Valentines teach children about friendship, sharing and new experiences. My 4 year old loves watching and "reading" the stories. For us, they are perfect for car rides-we spend a lot of time in the car, so this is a great way for him to have books read to him (one of our favorite things to do).  We would definitely recommend The Valentine's Collection or any of the Scholastic Storybook Treasures: A Read-Along DVD for families with children ages 4-8.
