A month before his 13th birthday, Jeremy Fink receives a mysterious wooden box with the words “The Meaning of Life - for Jeremy Fink to open on his 13th birthday.” It has four locks, but the keys are lost. In order to find out what secrets lie within the box, it’s up to Jeremy and his best friend Lizzy to use their imaginations to search high and low throughout Manhattan for clues. Their adventure takes them from flea markets to science museums, meeting wacky and interesting characters along the way. Each encounter unlocks a clue to bring them closer to finding out the contents of the box and ultimately discovering the greatest secret of them all!
This beloved film is rated PG and runs approximately 88 minutes, plus, the DVD is loaded with special features, including cast interviews, deleted scenes, bloopers, a limited edition embossed o-card with glitter spotting, and a downloadable audio of author Wendy Mass reading the first chapter of the book.
I love family films especially those that teach life lessons within and Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life definitely does that! The lessons/reminders in this film are great for people of all ages--we all need some reminding once in a while! I watched with my 4 year old and we both enjoyed it. We loved the relationship between Jeremy and Lizzy (she's a feisty one) and it was fun watching them navigate through the challenges the unlock the box.
Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life is a wonderful family film perfect for a family movie night!
