Dark Chocolate Gets A New Look From Chuao Chocolatier

YUM!!! I have discovered some delicious dark chocolate from a company called Chuao Chocolatier. Chuao (pronounced chew--WOW) Chocolatier was founded by 2 Venezuelan-born brothers now residents of San Diego, CA, who named their company after the legendary cacao-producing region of central Venezuela and are creating high-quality "fusion" chocolates that tempt our taste buds, through a commitment to create unusual, unexpected and delicious flavors using their secret blend of premium chocolate and fresh natural ingredients. If you are a chocolate lover--you need to check them out!

I was given 3 varieties of their dark chocolate varieties to test out. I love dark chocolate so I was super excite to try them out. Today, my 4 year old and I sampled a bit of 3 different bars and we loved them all--my 4 year old kept asking for more! This is some of the best chocolate that I have ever tasted! The 3 varieties I tried are:

Honeycomb--60% Cacao--Dark Chocolate bar with carmalized honey--sweet and crunch (my 4 year old's favorite)
Panko--60% Cacao--Dark Chocolate bar with Toasted Panko Breadcrumbs and Sea Salt--sweet and salty with a bit of crunch (my favorite--sort of reminded me of a dark chocolate cover pretzel only better)
Firecracker--60% Cacao--Dark Chocolate bar with chipotle, salt and popping candy--sweet, spicy and fun (my husband's favorite for the spice, we all enjoyed the fun popping occurring in our mouths) a very aptly named bar

Along with the bars, which include Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate versions with a variety of "fusions" including spices, nuts and more--including their newest edition of milk chocolate with potato chips (which I bet is awesome), their line of chocolate also includes:

Baking Chocolate
BonBons
Chocopods
Hot Chocolate
Non-Dairy Chocolate Items
Snacks--chocolate treats and brownie mixes

They also have a section that helps you perfectly pair the chocolate with your favorite scotch, if you desire.

Chuao Chocolatier products can be found in a few retailers nationwide--including Whole Foods Market and Crate & Barrel or they can be purchased from the Chuao Chocolatier online store -- you may need overnight shipping due to the warm weather right now, but it really is some great chocolate! Their chocolate is so creative that it would make a fantastic gift for any chocolate lover! Be a little daring--try something new--and if you like a bit of zip in your life try their Firecracker with your family and friends--it is sure to be a hit at your next get together!

The Gruffalo DVD Review

NCircle Entertainment is known for bringing our quality children's entertainment for over 20 years. One of their newest titles, The Gruffalo, is based on the best selling children's book by the same name, and will be released on August 16, 2011.

Here is the synopsis from the back cover of the DVD case:

This enchanting film tells the story of a mouse who goes in search of a nut. Along the way, he is confronted by three hungry animals who think that the mouse looks good to eat!

The Gruffalo is based on the bestselling children's picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Featuring the voices of Helena Bonham Carter, Rob Brydon, Robbie Coltrane, James Corden, John Hurt and Tom Wilkinson. Bonus content includes a photo gallery and the making of The Gruffalo.

I have read this book several times to my 4 year old, so it was cool to see the film that was created from the book. My child was completely entranced while watching the movie. He loved it and has asked to watch it again. It could be a little scary for some kids but my 4 year old was okay with it--maybe because I had read the story to him before. The narration & voice work was done very well and I liked the music that they put with it. We enjoyed The Gruffalo in our house!

The Gruffalo was available on August 16, 2011, at your local retailer and on NCircle Entertainment.

We all know we should be drinking water, but if you are anything like, plain old water gets boring and I need a zip of flavor added to it. We also know that getting our daily recommended amount of vitamins can be a challenge as well. I was able sample the different flavors of VBlast. Let me say, it is the most fun water we have experienced. When you first pick up the bottle it just looks like another bottle of water, but with a simple twist of their vitaminINfusion cap, the liquid vitamin concentrate cascades down in a colorful, flavorful flow to give your VBlast water a bright color and delicious flavor--full strength vitamins when you are ready to drink them.

My 4 year old loves to be the one to twist the vitaminINfusion cap--he thought it was so cool to watch the vitamins flow it. We both loved the different flavors. VBlast is wonderful delicious and refreshing. I love getting a boost of vitamins in my water and I like that my child enjoys the flavors as well. I definitely recommend it!

Snakes & Ladders by I Built It Games Review & Giveway

You may remember me telling you about I Built It! Games this past January (see former post here). I love their games--their games are an innovative combination of classic board games and craft kit. I Built It! Games all come with jumbo game pieces and an oversized gameboard. Each game piece is customize-able, allowing you to make you the game completely your own. Their games are really fun for all ages--for everyone can customize the game to showcase their unique personalities and special interests (sport team, hobby, etc). Preschoolers will love to make their own pieces, parents and grandparents would love to see their family members showcased in the game pieces, plus they can be changed out depending on who is playing or when you just get tired of one design.

The I Built It! Games currently include:

Snakes & Ladders...a Jungle Adventure
Memory Match & Tic Tac Toe
Checkers
Chess
Monsters (in the closet) Ludo

I was able to review the Snakes & Ladders...a Jungle Adventure! game. This game plays like the classic Chutes and Ladders that we all played as children but with a jumbo sized board and their personalize-able--it comes with the pictures of silly animals for your children to color or you/they can design their own picture to put in the game piece. I love that the game comes with the perfect sized template so you can cut down pictures to the perfect size. My child preferred to color the included pictures--he LOVED the goofy elephant--that is his game piece--no one else is allowed to use it. He loves to play this game. I like that they shortened the game a bit for more rapid play for little attention spans (like my 4 year old's).

Snakes & Ladders and any of the I Built It! Games would make awesome gifts for birthdays or any holiday! Anyone would love receive these games! Stay updated on all the happening on I Built It! Games by following them on Facebook.
