Add Some Style To You Laptop With Acme Made

Acme Made was created in 2002 by a couple of guys in San Francisco, with the sole purpose of designing, making and selling products to protect your computer and peripherals. They now have a line of Laptop Bags, Camera Cases, iPad, iPhone & eReader covers. There designs go from the basic to a much more elegant style, really something for every style person.

I was recently sent their Lombard Sleeve to test out. First let me say, I was given the White Antik version, which I absolutely loved the look of it--beautiful and elegant (shimmery, iridescent white with black design). The Lombard Sleeve is a MacBook Pro Sleeve-fit for 13" or 15" MacBook Pro (however it fit my laptop of similar dimensions without any difficulty). The outside of the Lombard Sleeve is highly water resistant. Inside consists of a soft touch lining covering a high density closed cell foam padding that provides you laptop with exceptional protection. The zipper closure goes across the top and about 1/3 of the way down on each side to make it super easy to slip the laptop in and out of. 

Also, please note that this is a sleeve--designed to protect your laptop during transportation, etc not a laptop bag so you most likely would not be able to fit you power cable into the sleeve. However, a sleeve is much less bulky than the laptop bag so it is perfect for when you are taking your laptop places where you will not be using the power supply, such as taking it to class or on a flight, it is easy to pull out your sleeve protected laptop--leaving the power supply stowed in your carry on. I personally like to use the sleeve to protect my laptop in my backpack or messenger bags for taking to meetings and such--that way I have my meeting supplies and computer all in one bag. Plus, with the Lombard Sleeve you also get a removable nylon shoulder strap for when you just want to take the laptop. Acme Made also carries full laptop bags if that would suit your personal needs better than a sleeve.

I, personally, am very pleased with the Lombard Sleeve. I rarely need to take my laptop anywhere where I would actually need the power supply so why bother with an entire laptop bag and I never need extra computer related supplies so this is perfect for me! I love that the shoulder strap is optional, and I really feel my laptop is very protected when it is in the Lombard sleeve. Plus, I think it quite feminine (sorry guys but Acme Made does have some great choices for you too!) and I love that about it, I need that sometimes when living with all boys in the house!

Chirply Greeting Cards Review & Giveaway

I was recently introduced to a website called Chirply. The Chirply motto is " Greeting Cards, Wrapping Paper, and Notebooks that don't suck." Chirply is a collaboration of artists and design lovers who submit designs and then collectively decide which are the best ones to make into things we use everyday such as greeting cards, notebooks and wrapping paper. 

I cannot draw worth a darn but I can really appreciate the talent in others. I have been bouncing around the Chirply site and there is some really impressive art work out there. I had fun voting on some of the new submissions (you can too) and it will be fun to watch to see if my favorites will become Chirply products in the future. 

If you are design talented--simple or complex, you can submit your design to Chirply for a chance to win a design contest and see your work on greeting cards. 

The shopping experience is fun too. Each card you order (I was given a few for this review) arrives packaged with the envelope and a card that directs people to Chirply. The card itself is printed on heavy cardstock and the back is designed to tell you the artist of that card and where they live.  Plus, Chirply offers free shipping on all orders within the United States.  I like that the cards are high quality and with fun designs (the Happy Birthday little monkey, is my favorite--it's cute and I have plenty of uses for it since I have a 4 year old).

Chirply is a fun website where you can submit designs for things such as greeting cards, vote on other's designs and shop for unique and fun items.

Filtrete Air Filter Rebate

Summer is in full swing and if you are like me, your air conditioner has been getting a lot of use lately. One of the best ways to help it run more efficiently is to change the filter regularly.

As a reminder it is best to change your furnace filter at least twice each year. Changing is recommended in the spring and then again in the fall. If you have pets, I think it is a good idea to change it more often.

Go Green With iQ Cleaning Products

In my opinion, taking care of our planet should be a priority for everyone, and choosing earth friendly cleaners for our home is a benefit to our planet and even to ourselves and our families. There are not lids to remove from the cleaning solution cartridges--no mess involved! 

The iQ line was awarded the "Best Green Packaging" by the Green Awards. iQ is in the process of expanding their availability throughout the USA. They have recently added Drugstore.com and Alice.com to their list of online retailers and is available at a select few stores at this time.

I have been using the iQ All-Purpose and the iQ Bathroom cleaner for the past few days. First, it really is super easy to assemble the products. I like that the refills take up so much less space than an entire other backup bottle and there really is no waste. Plus, I like having non-toxic cleaners around my family and I really feel like iQ did a great job cleaning for me. I, personally, am looking forward to seeing iQ cleaners on store shelves around the US but for now I am glad it is available to me and my family online.

Healthy Hands Are EO Hands Review & Giveaway

They included 3 liquid hand soaps (lemon & eucalyptus, french lavender, and rose geranium & citrus versions), hand cleansing gel (lavender essential oil), hand cleansing spray (peppermint (2oz) & lavender and peppermint w/ thyme (0.33 oz)) and cleansing wipes (lavender).

I, personally, am a believer in the strength of essential oils--it was something I discovered more so, while we were cloth diapering our son, so I am well aware of the antibacterial properties that some essential oils have. Plus, to me there is just something so pleasant about a pure substance, so I really like the EO line of hand cleaning products. I feel comfortable using them with my entire family and I feel they work great! 

I really like what EO has to offer, I think their slogan "Love Life. Live Clean." fits their products well--clean body, soul and environment. You can find EO, in all their natural glory, on several online retailers including Amazon.com, on the EO Shop and at some physical retailers such as Whole Foods Market.
