Ester-C Announes the Winners of the 24/7 Mom Contest

Over the past few months I have been telling you about the Ester-C family of products and about the 24/7 Mom Contest.  Over Mother's Day weekend the winners were announced.

Each of the 24/7 winners have such an amazing story to share.  You have to read them for yourself to believe them.  I have no doubt that you will agree that these ladies really are 24/7 moms!

Thinking about being a 24/7 Mom makes me think about how easy it is to put yourself last to the needs of your family.   Which is why I love Ester-C, the products are convenient to any lifestyle.

For the past few months I have tried the tablets, the to-go drink mix and now the gummies.  Of the three I think the gummies would be my favorite, each one is like a candy treat rather than a supplement (of course do not take them as a substitute for any candy)  The flavor is crisp and refreshing, with no flavor of any supplement. I do have to point out that they are larger than your typical gummy, and that it is suggested that you take two a day.  It is also listed on the label that children as young as 4 can take the gummies.

Granted I am not in the medial profession so I can not tell you that I have received any benefits, but I can tell you that Ester-C is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand.  I can also tell you that I plan to take the gummies long after my samples run out.

If you have not done so already be sure to like Ester-C on Facebook, by doing so you will get money savings offers and you will be the first to know about any contests they are running.

Thank you to Ester-C for supplying me with samples for this review.  Opinions are honest.  Compensation received for this post in the form of a gift card.

Sportline Step & Distance Pedometer and Dual-Use Heart Rate Monitor Review and Giveaway

I always have good intentions when it comes to wanting to exercise, but sometimes I find I am lacking a little bit in the motivation department...plus with my schedule, I have a hard time fitting it in.  One thing that I can do is walk, but I always wanted to know how far I had walked and was not always able to determine that.

Thanks to Sportline, I was sent some items to help me out; a Step & Distance Pedometer and a Dual-Use Heart Rate Monitor, so now I don't have any excuses.

I immediately opened the Pedometer and set it up following the easy instructions.  I had to calculate my walking stride distance which was quite simple by using the formula provided in the instructions.  This Pedometer also gave me the choice of displaying either the number of steps I have taken or the distance traveled.  I am able to switch back and forth to see both figures just by pushing one button.  So now, even if I am not specifically exercising, I can clip the Pedometer on my waist and go about my day.  This gives me a pretty accurate depiction of how many steps/how much distance I have walked each day.

Next I opened up the Dual-Use Heart Rate Monitor.  This is a really cool workout aid.  It has a watch that can used by itself or in conjunction with a chest belt.  The watch is also very easy to set up and will give you your pulse just by lightly touching the watch with your finger.  It also tracks calories burned, has audible alerts and provides EKG accurate data.  As I am writing up this post I can tell you that just by touching my finger to the watch face my heart rate is 76.  If you are looking for continuous heart rate monitoring then you can put the chest belt on. The chest belt will then relay the information directly to the watch on your wrist so you can adjust your workout so you can get the desired results.

I have been very happy with both products and definitely plan on using them from now on.  I am most excited about being able to have accurate information, and that will allow me to set goals for my exercise level.

The Sportline products are available at most sporting goods stores. You can find the list on the Sportline website.  You can also find them on Amazon.  The  Sportline Walking Advantage 340 Faceplate Pedometer is available for $10.57.  The Sportline 1010 Unisex Duo Heart Rate Monitor is available for $48.50 plus free shipping.

Thanks to Sportline, one lucky My Springfield Mommy reader will win a Dual-Use Heart Rate Monitor AND a Step & Distance Pedometer.

Giveaway will end at 8pm on Sunday, June 12th

Join Nickelodeon For Food With Friends DVD Review

Nickelodeon Favorites: Food With Friends

Join Dora, Diego, The Wonder Pets, Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba and Ni Hao Kai-lan for some fun in Food with Friends

The DVD will take you on journey to find and help with different foods:

Take Dora, she is on a mission to make her Mama a cake.
Diego helps his uncle with the strawberry farm.
The Wonder Pets visit Coney Island and discover cotton candy
Blue grows a garden
Yo Gabba Gabba has a party in their tummy
Kai-lan celebrates the Chinese New Year

Each episode comes from those you have seen on Nickelodeon, but now you get to bring them home and watch them over and over.  My daughter is going through a Dora phase right now so I can not tell you how many times I have watched Dora and Boots gather what they need to make Mama the cake.

What I like about Food With Friends is that it includes all your kids favorite characters and in small clips make it easy for them to focus their attention on the show and learn about new foods along the way.

Thank you to Nickelodeon for my sample used in this review.  Opinions are honest.

Cool Stuff Every Kid Should Know

Summer means one of two things, family vacation or a chance to work with your kids toward learning something new before the school year begins.  Either way Arcadia Kids is here to help.   With the help of Kate Boehm Jerome, they have created a series of books called Cool Stuff Every Kid Should Know. With profiles of 14 cities in the US, each 32 page book breaks down both local and state wide information.

Cities profiled include:
Columbus, Ohio
Austin, Texas
San Antonio, Texas
Columbia, South Carolina
Savannah, Georgia
Jacksonville, Florida
Rochester, New York
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Raleigh, North Carolina
Charlotte, North Carolina
Richmond, Virginia
Boston, Massachuettes
Chicago, Illinois

I have been reviewing the series as a whole, but I have focused on Columbus, Philadelphia and Chicago.  The three cities we will be visiting this summer.

As you know I will be visiting Columbus this summer.  While I know that the series is for kids I learned a few things about the city that I did not know.  For example I had no idea the city had a Topiary Park or a large German influence.  When we leave Columbus we will be heading to Philadelphia, of course we all know of the Liberty Bell, but did you know they have a 45 foot tall sculpture of a clothespin?  Later in the summer I am attending a bloggers event in Chicago, my husband and daughter will be joining me.  While I am in meetings they will be going to the Shedd Aquarium to see what all they have to offer.

If you are planning a summer trip, consider getting a copy of Cool Stuff Every Kids Should Know .  The books are both fun and informative.  Children and adults for that matter have something to learn from this collection.

Arcadia Kids would like to offer My Springfield Mommy reader's a 20% discount.  Just use code COOL at check out.  If once you get your set you are not happy with any part, there is nothing to worry about they come with a money-back guarantee!  (which you will not need, because you are going to be impressed)

Thank you to Raab Associates for my samples used in this review.  Opinions are honest.

Waterpik Water Flosser for Kids Review & Giveaway

According to a recent study by the American Association of Pediatric Dentists, 42% of mothers in the U.S. agreed that their kids needed to improve their oral healthcare regimen. The new Waterpik Water Flosser For Kids is the newest tool to help parents ensure that their children are taking good care of their teeth. It has been clinically proven to be up to twice as effective as using string floss and studies have shown it removes 99.9% of plaque from treated areas.

My 3 year old daughter has always been good about brushing her teeth and has a collection of about 7 or 8 tooth brushes that she likes to rotate through.  My husband and I know that just brushing is not enough, and she is still learning about flossing, so we were very interested in the Waterpik for kids.  When he was younger and had braces, my husband told me that he used to use a Waterpik all of the time.  He said it really helped him get the particles out of his braces and left his teeth feeling cleaner.

My daughter was certainly very interested in this new item in her bathroom and wanted to try it out right away...but first she wanted to decorate it.  The Waterpik Water Flosser for Kids comes with 20 removable clings so she could add some flair to it including a ladybug, flamingo, bird, butterfly, soccer ball, turtle and more.  She also enjoyed helping daddy fill up the reservoir with water and placing it on the base.  We handed her the tip and adjusted the pressure setting to level 1...there are 3 different levels of pressure available.  She was a bit surprised when the water started shooting into her mouth.  She did not have her mouth closed enough and some water hit the wall and some got on her face, but she quickly figured out how to avoid that and actually started having fun using the Water Pik.  Since that first time, she has been eager to keep using it.

We are going to keep this in her bathroom and plan on continuing to have her use it in addition to brushing.  She recently saw our family's dentist and he was very happy with her oral hygiene.

You can find a Waterpik Kids Water Flosser on Amazon for $59.99. You can also find it at Walmart, Meijer and other retailers.  Go to the Water Pik website and you can print a coupon good for $5.00 your purchase of the kids water flosser.

Thanks to Water Pik, one lucky My Springfield Mommy reader will win a Water Flosser for Kids.
