Glee The Second Season Is Here on Blu-ray & DVD

If you have a Glee fan, or Gleek, in your family then I am sure they are excited that Glee The Second Season was released on DVD and Blu-ray last week.  I honestly have not gotten in to the show, however, my husband is a big fan and has kept me up to date with what is going on.  Back in high school he was in the back-up band for a show choir and he has said that alot of what happens in the show is very familiar to him.

Anyway, he was very excited to get a copy for review from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  Needless to say, he had already watched all 22 episodes from season 2, but he still watched a bunch of them, but what he was really happy to check out were all of the extras.  First of all, this set is 6 discs and is about 1,000 minutes of Glee entertainment.  Probably his favorite extra on each disc is the Glee Music Jukebox.  What that is just the songs back to back from each of the episodes contained on that disc with no other dialogue, just the music and dancing.

If you were a fan of The Rocky Horror Glee Show that aired after the big game in February, then you will get to see a Making Of segment.  Other really fun extras include The Wit of Brittany, Shotting Glee in New York City, Sue's Quips and Santana's Slams.

I think the consensus is that the second season was not as strong overall as the first season but the build-up to Nationals in New York was fun to follow and despite New Directions 12th place finish, their chances in season three look really good, but we will all have to fasten our seatbelts and hang out for the ride which starts Tuesday, September 20th.

You can find the Blu-ray and DVD in your favorite stores as well as on Amazon.  The DVD is on sale for $34.99 and has an MSRP of $59.98.  The Blu-ray is priced at $44.99 and has an MSRP of $69.99.

Thanks to Twentieth Century Home Entertainment for my sample for review.  Opinions are honest.
