Gabe Dixon's One Spark Review

Singer/Songwriter Gabe Dixon's (formerly of the Gabe Dixon Band, now solo) debut album, One Spark, will be released on August 23, 2011. You can get a taste of his piano-driven, upbeat style of music with a sneak peak/listen at one of the songs from his album called My Favorite. 

The EP entitled My Favorite was released exclusively through iTunes and includes 4 tracks:

• On a Day Just Like Today
• Things That Move Me
• Change

You can check out the video of My Favorite on YouTube (by the way, Gabe does his own stunts in this video) and see him play My Favorite Live at Room 5 in LA as well see him switch from piano to guitar while playing Running on Fumes.

One Spark is set for release on August 23rd, but fans of Gabe can head over to Relix.com to grab a free download of the song "On A Day Just Like Today."  Those with an artistic eye can also enter to win $500 and an autographed copy of the record by submitting an original t-shirt design to his Creative Allies contest page before release day.

Gabe Dixon will be on tour this fall. I noticed he will be in the Chicago area on 9/23/2011 and St Louis area on 9/25/2011.

I was able to review an advanced copy of Gabe Dixon's One Spark and I really enjoyed it. Can really see hearing many of them played on the radio in the near future (My Favorite can already be heard on the radio nationwide). There is just something so pure, pleasant and almost peaceful about his music, his music can easily cross genre boundaries--fans of Rock, Pop, Country and Contemporary Christian could all really enjoy his music.  I have to admit my favorite song personally of all the tracks (there aren't any that I don't like) is Even The Rain which he sings with Alison Krauss--their voices go together perfectly for this song.
