4th of July Fireworks & Festivities

If you are looking for somewhere to take the family for fun and fireworks, here are some of the events going on in the area.

Springfield:

Capital City Celebration-Downtown

Sunday 5 pm-midnight at the State parking lot located at Fourth Street and Capitol Avenue

Monday 4 pm-? at Second Street and Capitol Avenue

Fireworks are at 9:30 pm Monday at Fourth Street and Capital Avenue

Knight's Action Park:

Great American Picnic-Now through Monday

3D Fireworks are at dusk on Monday

Chatham:

Fireworks are at 9 pm Sunday at Chatham Community Park located at 700 S. Main

Jacksonville:

Events today through Monday at Nichols Park on East Vandalia Road. 

Fireworks are at 9:30 pm on Monday

Rochester:

Sparks in the Park at Rochester Community Park located at Rochester Road and Wild Rose Lane

Saturday the events start at 7 am and at 5 pm Sunday

Fireworks are at 9:30 pm 

   I bet you did not know that Bill Shrink has also taken the time to break down the costs of  fireworks and compares them to some town's level of debt.  Bill's article is a big eye opener especially for many of us going out this weekend to enjoy the "free" event.
