Shaun the Sheep The Big Chase Review & Giveaway

 

I get the biggest kick out of Shaun the Sheep, and I love listening to my child crack up at him too, so I was very excited when I discovered that Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment were releasing a new DVD, on April 19, 2011, called Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase! I was even more excited when I got to preview an advanced copy--my son asked to watch it the minute he saw it and watched it in the car before we even got home--I loved listening to him crack up at Shaun's antics in the back seat (No, I did not watch it while I was driving, I had to wait until I got home)!

Here is the synopsis of Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase from the back of the DVD case:

Fun at the Farm Shifts Into High Gear!Start your engines for fun and laughter with Shaun the Sheep and his barnyard buddies as they speed off to stir up some mayhem in the meadow. The Oscar-winning creaters of Wallace and Gromit accelerate the laughter with revved-up adventures, from big races and chases to bikes and boats and everything in between. So buckle up for a wild ride with Shaun, Bitzer, Shirley, Timmy, and those Naughty Pigs next door as fun on the farm shifts into high gear!

Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase contains 7 stories including:

• The Big Chase--Timmy drives off on the Farmer's new quad bike then requires rescuing from Shaun and his friends--can they rescue Timmy & return the bike before the Farmer finds out?
• Bitzer From the Black Lagoon--Bitzer falls into a muddy pond and Shaun doesn't recognize his muddy friend and is convinced they are being attacked by a swamp monster.
• Zebra Ducks of the Serengeti--2 soot covered ducks are mistaken for a pair of rare African Zebra Ducks and the farmer transforms Shaun's field into a duck sanctuary and opens it to the public--what do you think Shaun will go to get his beloved field back? 
• Bitzer's Basic Taining--Bitzer turns the farm into bootcamp/strict military base while trying to prove to the Farmer that he does not need to be replaced
• The Magpie--Shaun has to figure out a way to stop a Magpie from stealing everyone's belongings 
• The Boat--The Farmer & Bitzer are renovating an old boat, when their backs are turned the sheep and pigs reek havoc on it during a game of pirates.
• Hide & Squeak--The sheep flock persuades Shaun into protecting the mouse that is terrorizing the farmer from the cat that was order to dispose of it.

Bonus features on the DVD include:"The Mini Making Of Shaun" video and Timmy's Tune #1. It is for fans of all ages and the main feature runs for about 45 minutes. 

My family loves Shaun the Sheep and the DVD Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase is no exception! I love that our entire family can watch it together without worrying about "bad" words or activities being shown--just a bit of naughty behavior at times (but that isn't too much different from having a preschool aged child of my own) and I can turn that into a learning experience!

Shaun the Sheep: The Big Chase will be available on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 and you can find 5 minute shorts of the Shaun the Sheep series on the Disney Channel.
