I was sent a Amplicom TCL 200 Alarm Clock
to check out. The TCL 200 is the Digital Version and includes the
chargeable vibrating pad that slips under the pillow and vibrates to
wake the person up. The Vibrating Pad can be used alone as one's alarm
or can be used in conjunction with the extra loud, up to 90 db, ringer
(you can also use the ringer alone). The TCL 200 has a large, ultra
bright digital display as well as a push button "talking" feature which
will tell you the time and alarm time in 5 different language options
(great for the visually impaired as well). It has the option of setting
dual alarms if desired and it can be connected to the phone line as a
ring amplifier/signaler.

I cannot imagine that very many people would be able
to sleep through this alarm with the vibrating pad & very loud
alarm tone options. I thought that it started out pretty loud but when
it went unanswered it became even louder and then once more! I found the
clock to be easy to set up and set, however some with visual impairment
may need a little help with the initial set up but then should be good
to go. The TCL 200 may have been initially designed for adults with a
hearing impairment but I can definitely see the potential for getting
heavy sleepers up as well--I am thinking high-school and college
students that somehow are able to sleep through most anything! This is a
great alarm clock with lots of options to help in several areas of
life.
