If you are looking for something to do today, why not take the family to the Illinois State Museum for a FREE Super Saturday Event.
Today's event is called Earth Smart and is a celebration of Earth Day.
During the “Earth Smart” program, you will learn
how to save both natural and financial resources by using green
practices. Children will use recycled materials to create a coin bank
and receive ideas on how to make extra spending money by thinking
“earth-smart” such as recycling aluminum cans and selling no-longer used
toys as part of a family garage sale. Children will have the
opportunity to create other crafts from recycled materials as well as
play environmental-themed games.
Super Saturdays take place on the second Saturday of each month and the recommended age range is 4-8.
Activities are ongoing from 10:00 AM
to 4:00 PM, take 30 to 45 minutes to complete, and feature take-home
crafts. Parents and families are encouraged to participate.
Registration is not required for this activity.
