Spring is here! Time for deep cleaning your house and keeping up with
all the mud & such that is being tracked into your house. I was
given the new Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper
to try out on my floors. I love that the sides flip up to get into
smaller areas and all the way into corners & partially up the
baseboards. I also love that when it is down you have full use of its
entire pad surface area--which is considerably larger than most of this
style--decreasing the amount of time it takes to clean. I also love that
you can use the Clean-Flip Sweeper as both a dry and a wet mop by
simply changing the pad. Changing the pads is also super easy--drop the
pad on the floor and place the sweeper over it and you are ready to go.
Most of us link Lysol with disinfecting and the Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper
is no different--their wet pads have the same germ killing capabilities
as other Lysol disinfecting wipes. This is a huge plus in my
book--given I have a child and pets!
The starter kit comes with the sweeper (choice of
assembled or unassembled--mine was unassembled and it literally took all
of about a minute to put together), 2 wet cloths (they have a nice
citrus scent, that I liked), and 2 dry cloths to get you started.
The Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper
is a light weight sweeper--perfect for quick daily clean ups--they
handle just isn't strong enough to put prolonged extensive pressure on
it--but it is perfect for my house--I have a large kitchen so I had to
use 2 wet pads to get through that area but I think I would only need
one for in the bathrooms--plus it flips up to go around the toilet--how
great is that!!

Here's a tip: Scrub down the walls and ceilings with a mixture of 1 gallon hot water, 2 c. white vinegar, and 1/2 c. baking soda (watch out, it'll fizz up at first!) It will clean and deodorize the entire house. I use it to spot clean my carpets, too (I have potty training going on!) Just make sure to test this solution on anything you plan to use it on first - the vinegar is an acid and can discolor some things.

My project is one I've been trying to do for a long time - get rid of everything we don't need. When I say don't need, I mean it! Knick-knacks, extra dishes, toys that don't get played with, clothes we haven't worn in over a year... My husband is a pack rat and he's always resisted, but we made a bet on something last month and I won - he has to let me weed out our stuff (he's allowed to keep only 5 things I think need to go.) It's going to be a lot of work and take forever, but it'll feel so good once I'm done!!!

My big spring clean project is to take a day, or two, look all around at stuff I would normally pass up and think is fine, and really go through things that just sit around to get rid of it if I do not need it. Of course this leads to dusting and sweeping behind large pieces of furniture too.

My spring cleaning tip, and anytime of year tip, is just to do it. I am such a procrastinator. It only gets worse if you wait. Just keep up on top of the little things, so they don't become big things. And have someone watch the kids for you.

The only tip I have is to develop a schedule and stick to it. Do a room a day if that is easier. That works for us.
Our big project is the porch. It's become the dumping ground for stray toys, books, boxes, gardening stuff, etc. Gotta tackle it!
My spring cleaning tip is to do home improvements simultaneously as it will keep you motivated to clean as you go!
