"Dance First. Think Later" 618 Rules to Live By (Workman Publishing, March 2011) is the latest compilation of quotes from the siblings and discerning curators of quotes, Kathryn & Ross Petras. These 618 quotes are from a wide variety of people to remind and inspire you to live your life to the fullest.
Here is the synopsis from the back cover:
Here are 618 of the pithiest, wisest guidelines to this puzzling business of living, from poker pros and poets, boxers and moguls, philosophers, comedians, scientists, and writers. Honest, simple and street-smart, these are deep and inspiring rules to live by.

I love quotes--I love that you can find so much meaning and inspiration is a short little statement. This book is just fun to simply flip through! It would be a great gift for graduates at any level, newlyweds, new home owners or to someone who needs a little inspiration.

Some of my favorite quotes from "Dance First. Think Later." are:
  • "If everything is under control, you are going too slow."--Mario Andretti (I guess I am going plenty fast!)
  • "The best way out is through."--Robert Frost (always a good reminder while I am going through a difficult time.)
  • "Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names"--John F Kennedy
  • "Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity."--George S. Patton
  • "If you can't change your fate, change your attitude."--Amy Tan
There were lots of other quotes that I could relate to in "Dance First. Think Later". I think most anyone can find at least one quote that has some meaning to them. I will leave you with just one more quote:

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."--Oscar Wilde

I'd like to learn some interesting quotes to cheer me up when I've had a rough day. My Dance first tip would be to "Take time to blow bubbles with a bubble wand. It's surprisingly relaxing!"
