SMARCKS The World's Smartest Building Block

SMARCKS are the newest way to begin to teach your child at an early age.  Smart Blocks, Inc. has taken an object that many children love--building blocks & expanded to become SMARCKS (Smart Blocks) that can talk & teach your child a variety of topics including Colors, Manners, Letters, Spelling, Counting, Shapes, Nursery Rhymes, Music & Math.

There are currently 7 SMARCKS sets available. The first set is the starter set which comes with 70 non-talking blocks of various colors and sizes, 1 blue talking block and sturdy container to keep it all in. The next 6 sets are contain 3 talking blocks which talk & teach about various subjects, to be used with the initial SMARCKS set (SMARKS will fit onto Lego Duplo blocks & Mega Bloks but the talking blocks can only recognize & talk about other SMARKS).

The SMARKS sets are progressive starting with Colors and Good Manners for age 1+ through the Amazing Math set for age 5+. There is a lot of science & technology that has gone into developing these blocks. They really do reach many aspects of the learning spectrum. My almost 4 year thinks the SMARCKS are pretty cool. He has always enjoyed building things and now it is even more cool that he can now make it talk as well. We were given a starter set as well as a few more to try and we are working on the Colors & Manners sets & the Counting, Shape & ABC blocks--we have played with the Math blocks but it is still a bit advanced for him. We were also given 1 of the Music blocks as well and that is probably his favorite block--he finds it quite intriguing!

I think these are a great invention--adding education to something that children already enjoy makes education fun and unforced--the way it should be at this age. SMARCKS won the Dr TOY Best Pick award in 2010 as well as the Parent's Choice Award in the Fall of 2010 and I can totally see why! Right now you can only purchase SMARCKS from the Smart Block website but hopefully they will be found in stores very soon! Plus they offer a 90 day satisfaction guarantee so you can try them out to see if they fit your child. My child is playing with his as I type this post--frequently bring them over to me all excited about what the SMARCKS are telling us!
