I seem to be always cold lately and these frigid temperatures are not helping at all. Unfortunately, I cannot stay huddled under the electric blanket all the time or keep on tons of layers, so I needed to find another option. I discovered a line of hand, foot & body warmers by HeatMax, Inc, that help immensely when I need that extra warmth.
These HeatMax, Inc products are all air activated--simply tear open the package and feel the heat--and odorless. They are made from all natural ingredients: Iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal & vermiculite (a natural mineral) are the only ingredients. You should read & follow the directions & warnings completely.
I have been trying out some of their products over that last few days, with very good results. Here are the items I tried:
HotHands-2: These are a compact size, perfect for fitting into gloves or pockets to help improve your warmth. They were designed for people who spend a prolonged about of time outside--outdoor sports people, spectators at outdoor events, construction workers, etc. and the heat lasts up to 10 hours. These are the perfect size to keep with you at all times. You never really know when you just might be left out in the cold longer than you desire.
Super HotHands Hand & Body Warmer: This warmer is larger in size (4"x5") and lasts up to 18 hours. This works great between layers of clothes or in a pocket to keep more of you warm for longer. I thought it worked great for me placed in an inside pocket of my coat. Again, great for prolonged outdoor activities.
FootWarm-Up: These foot warmers are designed for people who are sitting still & not generating a lot of body heat. They offer up to 6 hours of heat and are specifically designed to work in low oxygen environments like boots & shoes. You simply place the in the shoe between the bottom of your sock & the insole of insole of the footwear--if this is too hot you can place them under the insole of the shoe. They would be perfect for spectators of outdoor sporting events or ice fishermen, or people like me who just tend to have cold feet!
Toasti-Toes: These warmers are also designed to work in the shoe/boot. They are adhesive and are designed to stick to the bottom of your socks (a thick pair is best) under the toe area only. They provide up to 5 hours of warmth. These are designed for the ACTIVE outdoors-man (not for those sitting stationary).
Insole Foot Warmers: These warmers are designed for people who work or play outside for a prolonged period of time. They provide warmth for up to 9 hours. They are fully adhesive, designed to be adhered to the bottom of your socks (thick socks work best & do not place between layers of socks, on the skin or on the top of the foot). They are designed to work in the low oxygen environment of your shoes/boots.
These HeatMax Inc warmers are perfect to keep on hand for when you need to spend lots of time in the cold. They worked great for me. They are quick & simple to use. However, as with any heat or cold application you need to read & follow the warnings completely, if you have any questions about whether these warmers are a good solution to meet your needs, please discuss it with your physician.
HotHands Brand of air activated warmers have been around for over 20 years and now brings you a wider variety of products to meet some of your warm hands, warm feet & warm body needs. You can see all they have to offer on HandWarmers and Footwarmers. I plan to keep some on hand at all times.
