When I attended the Build-A-Bear Workshop program last summer I was first introduced to their Huggable Heroes program and got to meet one of the young people who won one of these awards.
Through their Huggable Heroes® program,
Build-A-Bear Workshop recognizes and encourages
young leaders, ages 8 to 18, who provide extraordinary service in
their communities and around the world. The eighth annual search for
these special kids is now on!
Anyone, ages eight and above, is eligible
to nominate a candidate by completing a form found on the Build-A-Bear Workship Huggable Heroes site or by
picking up an entry form at participating Build-A-Bear Workshop stores.
Nominations will be accepted through
Feb. 28, 2011.
Ten winners will each be awarded $10,000 with $7,500 in the form of a college scholarship and $2,500 donated to their special cause.
So if you know of an outstanding 8-18 year old who is trying to make a difference, I encourage you to nominate them to be a Huggable Hero.
