Kitten Party DVD Review & Giveaway


If you are looking for a fun and educational DVD for kids and animal lovers of all ages, here is Kitten Party. It is done by NCircle Entertainment.

We have three cats that my daughter is really fond of, so she had a great time watching this 70 minute DVD.  It shows 50 kittens from a dozen different breeds running, pouncing, jumping and playing together.  Plus there are three sing-along kitten songs.  One of the kittens looked very similar to one we have, so my daughter had a good time spotting it over and over again.  There is music and narration to accompany the fun and cute kittens playing.  Plus, it is shot in high definition, so the picture looks great.  

This DVD can be found on Amazon for only $6.99.

SwirliDo Review & Giveaway

 If you pull your hair back and want to try something that does not leave lines or give you a headache you will be happy to discover the SwirilDo.

I again reached out to this friend for help, I cut my hair this summer and it is too short to even try to pull up.  Here is what she had to say:

I have to admit, I wasn't so sure these would work all that well but they really hold the hair well. I wore one all day today to give it a decent test drive. It held through my "not so gentle" workout--I did not have to adjust my ponytail once due to slippage (usually I have to several times with the traditional "gentle on the hair" holders). I was able to accomplish a couple of different styles using these with my medium length, medium textured hair with minimal effort. I was able to put them in & take them out with out pain or catching with my semi-curly hair. They really don't leave a pony line--at least when applied when hair was already dry. They hold tight without pulling on my scalp. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked for me.

Twist-n-Roll Tweezer Review & Giveaway

If you struggle with facial hair the Twist-n-Roll may be just the tool for you.  It removes hair in one gentle movement and is a natural way to remove hair without using chemicals.

I asked a friend to help me with this review and this is what she had to say:
 
I tried these out tonight on my upper lip, chin and side burn areas and found them to be an effective method of hair removal once I got the technique down. I watched the video demonstration at www.facialwork.com and would definitely recommend doing so prior to first use.

I like that there is virtually no mess involved. It doesn't burn or remove your skin the way wax or chemicals can. The discomfort was still there but it was more tolerable than with waxing for me. I think that future hair removal will go much smoother now that I have the technique down pat for my personal facial contour.

I cannot speak for regrowth obviously since I just did it tonight--but I would imagine it would be similar to waxing since it removes hair at the root & may even be better--softer/less since the removal of the hair was less traumatic to the skin.

Chuck E. Cheese's Review & Guest Pass Giveaway


My husband and I have taken our daughter to Chuck E. Cheese's several times over the past year and a half or so. She has actually been taken to 3 different locations and has loved each and every visit.  As she has gotten older she seems to enjoy each visit more and more. She is getting into more and more of the games and she definitely loves to win tickets, because that means she can cash them in for treasures and treats. 

We just visited the Springfield location today.  It was a very busy day but the staff was friendly as always and our pizza came out within 15 minutes, which I found out is the goal they have.  There were several birthday parties going on as well.  Even though it was super busy, my daughter still had a lot of fun and ended up cashing her tickets in on a Toy Story doodle kit and a few other smaller items. We even had extra tokens that we took with us but they will not go to waste...we will use them on our next visit. 

We used a Guest Pass which got us a large one topping pizza, 4 sodas and 30 tokens.  The retail value of this pass is right around $23 or so.  Don't forget to check out the Chuck E. Cheese's website too because there are a lot of fun games and you can join their email club and get access to great coupons as well as free tokens for your kids on their birthday.

Events in Downtown Springfield Today


Head Downtown today for two historical and FREE events.
First, celebrate what would have been local poet Vachel Lindsay's 131st birthday.  From 10 am-4 pm visit the Lindsay Home State Historic Site located at 603 S. Fifth St.  This FREE event includes cake, spiced cider and poetry readings. 

Also, commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln presidential election at the downtown Lincoln sites.  There will be costumed interpreters, lunch with Lincoln, concerts and lectures at the Old State Capitol and Lincoln Home sites.   You can find a schedule of events on the National Park Service site.
