The National Eye Institute wants to help educate your children about their eyes.

They have a FREE Activity Book that is geared for 6-8 year olds that contains mazes, games and comic strips designed to help children learn about parts of the eye and how they work, as well as eye safety and first aid for eye injuries.

This free book is 12 pages in length. You can choose to have them mail you one copy or you can download the PDF version.

If you opt to have the book mailed to you, you will have to enter your mailing information but you won't have to enter your payment information because it is free!

Events in Springfield This Weekend

There are a number of fun events going on in and around Springfield this Labor Day weekend, and some of them are FREE!

Saturday evening at 6 pm at the Douglas Park band shell located at 400 N. MacArthur Blvd., the Illinois Symphony Orchestra performs its annual FREE end of the summer concert, called Pops in the Park.

Today and Sunday head to the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Ethnic Festival. You will find food, music and cultural activities and the giant slide will be open for the kids. The Festival runs from Noon-11 pm both days.

Then, who is up for a parade??
Springfield's annual Labor Day Parade starts at 10 am on Monday. It starts at Seventh and Jefferson, then travels west on Jefferson to Fifth, south to Monroe, east to Sixth and north to Washington.
